Planning and communication
I’ve been working at mediaman as an account manager for our Mercedes-Benz and Zurich Group projects since March 2014, and I liaise between customers and our internal project teams. I keep close contact with customers by e-mail and phone, and delegate any resulting work amongst my colleagues. Inside the company, I act as a contact person for questions on the project as well as staff planning. I support the project team by keeping communications running, organising the necessary meetings, making sure my colleagues have enough to keep them busy while keeping within the project framework. I stick with my projects from start to finish – I write the offers, keep my eye on the budget, and write the bills at the end.
Apart from that, I’m responsible for in-house agency staff planning for my colleagues.
Learn and grow
I think it’s important to keep learning and growing, and this is how I achieved my account manager’s position without a university degree; mediaman has given me the opportunity to manage major projects for major brands, and I am proud to be able to meet the expectations of my customers and colleagues.
Before I joined mediaman, I was in a team of specialists at the redblue agency in Munich; we served as contacts for the other digital teams. I was responsible online advertising materials focussing on special applications such as streaming ads, expandables and interstitials for customers such as Media Markt, Saturn and Redcoon consumer electronics retailers in my role as a technical project manager. I trained the digital teams, and I was the person they went to when they needed help with ideas and implementing the ads.
I wanted to move to Mainz to be closer to my family, but it was mainly the projects and activities that clinched it for me in becoming an account manager at mediaman.
Volleyball player with the geek factor
I like to play volleyball in a club when I’m not spending time with friends or my girlfriend. Apart from that, I’m a total tech and film freak – I collect memorabilia from certain movies; sometimes you’ll see me at a trekkies’ dinner, or at the Fedcon or Star Wars exhibition in Cologne. City tours and amusement parks also figure on my leisure list.
