The Mobile World Congress Shanghai is Asia’s biggest mobile industry event. This is where connections are being made and this year it was easier than ever to find and meet business partners – with the optimized networking app for iOS and Android.
The goal: intuitive congress networking
Finding new business partners, re-forging old connections – important goals for congress attendees. Finding the right contacts among thousands: that is the challenge.
The path: Tinder-style on a brand new infrastructure
Networking, Tinder-style: based on various factors (e.g. same-day attendance, role, interests) the app suggests matching business partners which can either be discarded or added to the personal contact list with a simple right swipe. Getting in touch and making appointments is equally simple.
However, when the project started just three-and-a-half months before the event, mediaman Shanghai was challenged with more than just innovative front end tasks. First, they needed to create a technical infrastructure that could serve all the necessary data.
The future: re-purpose and enhance
GMS Association also hosts the Mobile 360 event series, which will now use the same technical infrastructure.
